2 Months
Size- Henry weighs 11 lbs 4 oz and is 22 1/2 inches. His head circumference is 39cm. He is in the 50th
percentile for all three. He has recently moved into size 1 diapers. He is still wearing 0-3 month clothes but he may be becoming too long for some outfits. My little boy is growing too fast!!
Development- Henry is a strong little guy. He has been holding is head much longer and more frequently. He can stand on his legs for a bit when being held. We are working on building up Henry's right neck muscles with tummy time. He is looking more to his right and I feel like those muscles are getting stronger. He is able to raise his head and chest for about 10-15 minutes. Henry is still rolling over but not consistently. I was so excited when Henry smiled at 7 weeks old. I love his sweet smiles, coos, and giggles!! Henry is very alert and loves to look around. He takes everything in around him. He has begun noticing his feet and enjoys looking at them "run around". He likes to bicycle, scissor, and crunch- just like his mommy! Henry has started sitting in his bumbo for short periods of times. I think he looks like a little old man when he sits in it. So cute!!
Personality- Henry is very observant. I wonder where he got that from? He is alert and loves to watch everything. Of course, Lee thinks Henry is destined to be a grade A starer just like his grade A staring mom Ashley.
Eating- Henry is eating 5-6 times a day. When he takes bottle, it is about 4 1/2 ounces unless he is very hungry and then he takes more like 6 oz. He is eating about every 2 1/2- 3 1/2 hours. With some big blowouts in between....fun, fun!
Sleeping- Not sure about this one. Henry was sleeping through the night around 4-5 weeks. He would sleep anywhere from 7-10 hours!! We were in heaven! I guess it was a fluke because around 7-8 weeks he started waking up once every few nights. He would sleep a 5-8 hour stretch and then wake up to eat and go back to sleep for a few more hours. The past 2 nights he has slept through the night. Last night was 10 1/2 hours!! We were thrilled!! I am not getting too excited because you never know when he is going to wake in the middle of the night. The past 2 weeks, we have been working on putting Henry in his crib for naps. We are trying to put him down awake so he learns to soothe himself. He has been pretty good at falling asleep on his own. He normally gets tired after being awake about 1 1/2 hours. We take him upstairs, swaddle him, turn on his sound machine, rock or sway him about 1 minute, and then put him down. Sometimes he falls asleep right away without a peep and sometimes he may fuss a few minutes. We have had a few crying sessions where he can't settle himself to sleep. The length of his naps vary from 30 minutes-2 1/2 hours. He takes about 3-5 naps a day. I hear the sleep routine will come in the next few months. I am trying to be patient....but the teacher in me wants the little guy on a schedule like my third graders!
Likes/dislikes- Henry loves having his diaper changed. He smiles and coos the most on the changing table. He loves watching Lawson and his mobile above his bed.
Milestones- Smiling at 7 weeks old- the sweetest thing ever!!! Sitting in the Bumbo at 8 weeks. Noticing Lawson and turning his head to look at surroundings also. Even a few rolls mixed in- though they look more like losing balance, uncomfortable arm and leg squirms...

Week 8
Henry visited his first pumpkin patch. I don't think he had as much fun as mom and dad did taking pictures of him among the pumpkins. He was a good sport to put up with us. Henry had some visitors this weekend. Aunt Carol drove all the way from Georgia to meet Henry on Friday. Henry enjoyed being the star of her videos. Thank you, Aunt Carol, for coming to visit Henry. Anna flew in this weekend to meet Henry. Henry loved Anna! Henry started physical therapy on Monday. He has torticollis so he will be seeing Rachel once a week to strengthen his right neck muscles. We will be spending more time doing tummy time to help strengthen those muscles. Henry sat in the Bumbo for the first time!! I am not sure how he felt about it.

Week 7
Henry smiled for the first time on Wednesday!!! It melted my heart. He was 6 weeks old. When he turned 5 weeks old, I made it my mission to get him to smile. The doctor had told me that he should smile by 8 weeks so of course I wanted to make sure Henry met his first milestone. Henry woke up on Wednesday morning and I took him to my bed to feed him. During the middle of his feeding, I was talking and smiling at him as I always do but this time he decided to smile back at me. I was so excited!! I was screaming for Lee and he of course thought something was wrong. I love talking to him now and having him respond with sweet smiles and coos.
We had a very big week in Charlotte visiting friends and family. The proud grandmothers threw a Sip and See in Henry's honor on Friday. I was nervous that Henry would be upset and fussy since it was being held from 4-6, which are not typically his best hours of the day. To my surprise, he did very well being passed around from woman to woman. It was fun to see so many friends that we haven't seen in awhile. I dressed Henry in his first nice outfit but of course he had to have a blow out that required a new outfit. It was a lot of fun!! Thanks Honey and Mimi!
Not only did Henry meet lots of friends but he met many family members as well. He met BB and Daddy BB, Aunt Len, Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike, Tara, John, and Baby Reese. Reese was born about 2 1/2 weeks after Henry. She is precious!!! We are looking forward to seeig them together at Christmas! Henry also got to spend quality time with Honey, Bid Daddy, Mimi, Pop Pop, Aunt Katie, Aunt Alison, Uncle Brian, and Sammie.
Henry's grandparents are so proud of him so we were asked to bring him to their offices so they could show him off. We went to see Honey, Big Daddy, and Pop Pop at their offices. Everyone loved meeting Henry!

Week 6
We had a pretty low key week. This was the first weekend that we did not have anyone coming to visit us. There was not a UNC game in Chapel Hill but we still managed to watch a lot of football. Henry attended church for the first time. He was able to meet Lisa and Anna Brooks on Sunday. Henry rolled over for the first time this week! I was in the bathroom getting ready and Henry was on the floor in his room playing. I placed him on his tummy and looked in the room a few moments later and he had rolled onto his back. I placed him back on his tummy and he rolled again onto his back. This continued for awhile.
