A Baby's Best Friend

Henry is starting to notice Lawson more and more.  He loves watching Lawson when he is on his tummy doing tummy time.  Lawson is much more interesting than his toys.  Henry is beginning to reach out and grab onto Lawson.  Lawson better watch out because Henry has a nice grip! I am sure Lawson will grow to love Henry more when Henry starts eating....

Henry's First UNC Game

Henry went to his first UNC basketball game!!!  He was wonderful!  He enjoyed every minute of it that he only fell asleep for 15 minutes.  He is jut like his momma in that he doesn't want to miss anything!!  He sat on daddy's lap most of the time and cheered on the Heels to victory!  I am sure he will be attending many more games.  Go Heels!

The Adventures of Henry and Lila

I have decided not to return to teaching this school year.  I have the option of returning in August.  I am staying home with Henry, which I am thrilled about!!!  In addition to Henry, I am keeping another infant, Lila.  Henry and Lila are 12 days apart so I feel like I have twins.  Life with two babies has not been nearly as crazy as I thought it would be.  They have been very easy babies so far.  I hope our lives continue to run as smoothly as they have been.  Of course, three month old babies don't interact too much but they have been cute together.  They enjoy staring at each other and occasionally talking to each other.  Henry has a new found interest in grabbing things so poor Lila has had to deal with him.  If they are next to each other, Henry can normally be found holding on to Lila.  She is sweet to tolerate him now.

"Lila, where are you going?"

"What's up?"

Blowing Raspberries

Henry has acquired a lovely new skill, blowing raspberries.  We walked in from the grocery on Sunday and he started blowing raspberries.  He continued to practice this skill all night.  Has has been entertaining us all week with his new skill.  I love it!!

Parrella's Visit

Last weekend, Aunt Alison, Uncle Brian, and Samantha came to visit us in D-town.  They were so sweet to come since we weren't able to make it home for Thanksgiving.  Samantha was so cute with Baby Hen aka Baby Henry.  She made sure he always had enough toys to play with.  Henry would sit in the Bumbo and Samantha would stuff every toy between him and the tray.  She also loved reading to him.  Henry had to look quickly at the pages because Samantha is a speed reader and only gave him a second to look before turning to the next page.  We had a wonderful time visiting and hope they come again soon!

Thanksgiving

Again- I know I am behind but I am trying to catch up.  So, we celebrated Thanksgiving here in D-Town and it wonderful!  It was the first time in my life that I was not in Charlotte for Thanksgiving.  Lee had to work Thanksgiving so my family came up to join us.  Mom, Dad, Katie, Bradley, Haley, and Brad drove up from Charlotte on Thursday morning.  We were so glad to have Joseph, a resident with Lee, join us for dinner.  Mom did most of the cooking.  We had sooo much food: sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, cranberry apple casserole, dressing, cranberry cause, beef tenderloin, turkey, cornbread, bread pudding, and pecan pie.  It was all so yummy.  Mom decided that we would be different this year and have something special for dinner, beef tenderloin, on Thanksgiving.  When I told Lee it was a bit shocked.  A Thanksgiving without turkey- he was not no sure about that.  Well, Brad was a little traumatized by mom's decision as well so he decided that we had to have a turkey too.  So, we had beef tenderloin and turkey, which made everyone happy.  Lee ended up getting off very early.  He was home by 1:00.  We had a great time with visiting with everyone.  Henry did his normal thing- eat, play, and sleep.  He was enjoyed by all during his short wake/play times.  Next year, little Henry will be able to enjoy his first turkey with us!

Since we weren't able to make it to Charlotte for Thanksgiving, Mimi and Aunt Ashley came to visit on Friday.  We loved having them visit.  Henry was a little fussier than normal on Saturday but we still managed to have a good visit.  Could the fussiness be to teething????

Three Months

I am sooo behind but better later than never, right??  Here we go.....

I love three months!! Henry is soooo much fun! He is changing daily and I enjoy watching all his changes.

Size- We don't go to the doctor again until next month but I weighed Henry on our home scale and he was 12 lbs 3 oz. He is still wearing 0-3 month outfits and some 3-6 month outfits but they are a bit big. I am sure this growing boy will quickly grow into them. Henry is still wearing size 1 diapers.

Development- Henry does great at tummy time. He can hold his head up and push up with his arms for about 15-20 minutes at a time. Henry likes to push off us and stand. He also likes to go from lying to sitting to standing with help. He has been enjoying sitting in his Bumbo. He likes to reach for and touch his toys. Henry has started putting these toys in his mouth. Maybe he is beginning to teeth???? Sophie is now coming in handy. He is now enjoying his activity mat because he can pull on the toys above him.

Personality- Henry is so fun to be around. He is a pretty easy baby. He cries when he is hungry or tired.
He has become a chatter box lately. He talks, giggles, and makes lots of funny noises.

Eating- Henry eats about every 2 1/2 - 3 hours, which is about 5-6 times per day.

Sleeping- Henry has been consistently sleeping for 11 hours but as we are moving up his bedtime he is doing 11-12 hours!! He has been going to bed at 7:45 and waking up between 7:15 -7:45. We are slowly moving up his bedtime to 7:00. We are hoping to  get him to 7-7. We have always been very lucky in the sleep department with Henry. He is a great sleeper.  We are still working on naps but I am not too worried about them yet because we have to get his nightime sleep figured out first. Currently, he is taking about 4-5 naps a day. He normally goes down for a nap after being awake for 1 1/2 hours. Most naps are 45 minutes to an hour. Usually, one nap is 2-3 hours long!

Likes/dislikes- Henry loves the swing, baths, Bumbo, and his fist in his mouth.

Milestones- Henry slept 12 hours for the first time. Henry went on his first long car ride to Charlotte with just mommy.
