Henry's First Christmas Party

We were invited to attend a Christmas Party at the Powell's home.  It was so fun because there were 3 other babies there.  They were so cute together.  Of course, we made them do the traditional portrait on couch.  Poor things! When these pictures were taken Brooks was 7 months, Emmy was 3 months, and Lila was 2 weeks old.

Henry, get your dirty paws off me!!

I love Henry's expression

First, I am going to grab Brook's arm

Then, I am going to pull on your clothes

Mom, I have had enough.  No more pictures. I am done!!

1st Christmas

We had a very merry and special Christmas this year! Lee and I were given the greatest gift this year, Henry.  It was so very special to celebrate his first Christmas.  We enjoyed the week in Charlotte visiting friends and family.  We stayed at Lee's house the first three nights and my house the last three nights.  We celebrated Pop Pop's birthday Thursday night at Myers Park.  We were given our own room, which was great so that little ones could be as loud as they wanted to be.  The food was unbelievable.

We celebrated Katie's birthday on Friday over lunch at City Club.  I had the best sweet potato fries!  That evening, Lee and I attended our 10 year reunion at Andrew Blair's.  It was so fun to see our classmates!

Honey had a Christmas Eve brunch at our house.  We enjoyed delicious money bread and sausage egg casserole.  Mimi, Pop Pop, and Ashley joined us.

We visited with Lee's grandparents at Alison and Brian's before heading to my house for Christmas Eve dinner.  Honey served Lexington BBQ, which is always delicious.  We enjoyed dinner with Kay's family.  Henry fell asleep at our house and then we transported him to Lee's house for the night.  He was able to fall back to sleep very easily.  Grandmommy and Granddaddy stayed with him while we attended the 11:00 church service with Lee's family.  I love that service, it so beautiful!

We woke up Christmas morning and enjoyed opening presents from Santa and Lee's grandparents.  Henry loved opening presents!!!  He unwrapped the paper and then put it straight into his mouth.  He was so cute!! Henry was spoiled rotten.  I don't know where we are going to put all of his new toys.  We enjoyed a yummy brunch before heading to my house for Christmas lunch.  Henry was able to meet my aunts and uncles that he had not met before.  He met Frank, Richard, Mary, Mike, Lewis, Sherry, Megan, Bill, and Madison.  We stuffed ourselves with turkey and many delicious casseroles before opening more presents.

Monday morning, we headed back over to Alison and Brian's to celebrate the Brinkley Christmas. Henry was able to spend some quality tummy time with Baby Reese.  It is so much fun to see the babies together.  We took so many pictures of them!

What a great Christmas!

Rolling Over

Henry started rolling to his side yesterday when on his tummy.  Today, he rolled from his back to his tummy!  He would roll to his side and then try to get a toy.  It took him several attempts of rolling almost onto his tummy but then falling back onto his back because his arm would get in the way.  But, once he figured it out he was on a roll!! He kept rolling from his back to his tummy.  He is not consistently rolling from his tummy to his back yet.

4 Months

Each month gets better and better with Henry! It is so much fun to watch him grow and learn new things each month.

Size- We went to the doctor for his 4 month checkup and Henry is growing perfectly. He is 50th is percentile for everything. He weighs 14 lbs 3oz and is 25 inches tall. He is wearing 3-6 month clothes and some 6 month outfits but most are too big. Henry is wearing size 2 diapers. My little man is growing too fast for me!

Development- Henry loves to grab and touch everything! You better watch out!! We just introduced the jumperoo and he loves it. He also loves his jumper in the doorway. One of his favorite things to do is to stand on our laps. He rolls over from his tummy to his back but not consistently. Henry has become quite the talker this month. He talks constantly like his momma. He also squeals very loudly when he is excited. I think we are going to have a chatterbox on our hands one day. Henry learned to blow raspberries. Lee says that Henry associates blowing raspberries with him so everytime Henry sees Lee he blows raspberries. So cute!!

Personality- Henry is a social and curious baby. He wants to watch everything around him. He becomes very distracted when eating if others walk in or are talking. ADD???? He loves to talk and squeal. We can't believe such a little baby is able to make such loud noises.

Eating- Henry eats about every 2 1/2 - 3 hours, which is about 5-6 times per day. We have been given the go ahead to try rice cereal. I can't wait to see how he does with it.

Sleeping- Henry is sleeping 11-12 hours at night!! His bedtime is 7:30 if we are home and he normally wakes up around 7:15. Sometimes earlier and sometimes later.  Naps are all over the place, which makes me kind of crazy.  Currently, he is taking 4 naps a day. He normally goes down for a nap after being awake for 1 1/2 hours. Most naps are 45 minutes to an hour. Somedays, we get a 2-3 hour nap. I love when that happens!! I am hoping that this next month brings longer naps and less frequent ones.

Likes/dislikes- Henry loves anything in his mouth, blowing raspberries, the jumperoo, standing on our laps, and facing out of the Baby Bjorn because he can see what's going on.  Unfortunately, he loves the TV. He does not like being strapped into his car seat. He cries almost everytime he is put in it but then stops crying once we start moving.

Milestones- Henry learned to blow raspberries. He went to his first Carolina basketball game. He loved it!!! I knew he would be a Tarheel fan.
